Quality Assurance Inspector / Quality Engineer (4/2024)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform review and approval of operational sketches, work instructions, external purchase orders. 
  • Perform review and approvals for maintenance of the companies Approved Supplier List. 
  • Ability to schedule and monitor team assignments to support department productivity and product quality.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (AS9102) and Final Inspections per customer purchase orders, contracts, and Pacific Sky Supply, Inc. procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to inspect product and articles as a CMM operator.  
  • Proficient interpretation of specification ANSI Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Report status of assignments for their completion dates. 
  • Perform training to quality and or production personnel as required to maintain product quality and quality system requirements.   
  • Support corrective actions and preventative actions as needed including follow-up to verify closure.  
  • Perform Receiving, and In-Process inspections to provide dimensional reports.
  • Verification of external party material certifications, process certifications, inspection reports, and first articles reports are acceptable as per Pacific Sky Supply, Inc. purchase order, drawings and specification requirements.
  • Support and work within the companies Quality Policy and Quality Management System as required including support for internal audits.  
  • Create Discrepancy Reports with accuracy and details that include constraints of the nonconforming features in support of engineering dispositions.
  • Strong communication skill sets with internal and external parties as needed.
  • Assists with other Quality personnel in completing any assigned task as required.

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years machine shop inspection experience (precision environment preferred).
  • Layout inspection experience required.
  • CMM Experience is preferred (PCDIMS is a Plus). 
  • Capable of reading and understanding detailed, complex drawings for machined parts.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Good communication, reading, and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must have good record keeping skills and organizational abilities. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of ISO9001, experience in AS9102 a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter and requires minimal supervision.
  • Effective teamwork, interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to (50) pounds without any equipment assistance.
